Willie Buckley
Veterinary Surgeon and Managing Partner
Willie was born and reared on a dairy farm about a mile away from our Bandon clinic. He qualified from UCD in 1994 and since then has worked in Northern Ireland, Wales, the Hebrides, New Zealand amongst others and acquired additional qualifications in Diary Herd Health. . His professional interests are mastitis and surgery. As well as being an active Farm Animal Vet and managing partner of Riverview and a family man, he is a member of Cellcheck Technical Working Group of AHI and is also one of founder member of XLVETS Ireland which we set up with 5 other practices in 2009.

Michael Sexton
Veterinary Surgeon and Managing Partner
Michael qualified as a vet in 1992. His first job was in mixed practice in East Cork/West Waterford and in 1993 he returned “home” to Riverview, while also spending a year in mainly equine practice outside Sydney in Australia. Whilst continuing to work in general farm animal practice he specializes in bovine abdominal surgery, fertility and infectious diseases of cattle.
He has previously worked in embryo transfer (ET), ovum pick up (OPU) and in-vitro fertilization (IVF) areas of bovine reproduction and completed a Masters in Viral epidemiology.
Currently he is involved in Animal Health Ireland (AHI) and is a member pf both the BVD and the Biosecurity technical working groups (TWG).

Gavin Russell
Veterinary Surgeon and Partner
Gavin heads up the Bandon Companion animal clinic, and his patients adore him. Keeping abreast of new research and developments in veterinary science is a passion. He also holds the certificate in Small Animal Medicine. When not at work he loves the great outdoors and is a BBQ master, much to his family’s delight. Apart from road trips with the family and relaxing with Oliver Twist and Millie (2 rescue cats) he loves pottering about in the garden where his pride and joy, a Monkey Puzzle Tree, has been named ‘spikey’ Bob by the kids.

Carl McAuliffe
Veterinary Surgeon and Partner
Carl is from Cloyne and is head of our Ballincollig Hospital. He’s a partner and also leads our surgical referral service Riverview Referrals. Carl graduated from UCD in 1999 and spent the first 10 years of his career in the UK working in referral practice where he trained and gained his expertise in advanced surgery. He then returned home to Cork and started a surgical referral service in Douglas and then later brought his skills and referral service to Riverview Ballincollig where he now runs our state of the art trauma hospital aided by his amazing team of nurses, vets and support staff .
Carl receives referral orthopaedic, spinal and soft tissue surgical cases from vets throughout Munster and occasionally further afield , as well as Riverview’s own complex trauma / surgical cases.

Kieran Hinds
Veterinary Surgeon
‘Kieran graduated from UCD in 2019 and is a part of our Carrigaline team. He is enthusiastic about all aspects of Veterinary Medicine and is developing a keen interest in small animal surgery. He’s passionate about all animals and is humbled daily by what he learns from clients and their pets. In his spare time he enjoys Beekeeping and creating Art.

Evelyn Coleman
Veterinary Surgeon
Evelyn loves her job so much we have to remind her to go home! When she does, Jenny her young setter likes to keep her busy with beach and forest walks. To really relax she plays tag rugby and referees between Jenny and Joleen (her rescue cat) who have a love /hate relationship with each other.

Maria Sole Bandani
Veterinary Surgeon
Since Maria was child, she had the dream of being a veterinarian surgeon.
One thing that she really loves about her job is that it can makes her feel helpful for the others. Also seeing an animal that is getting better thanks to her, makes her feel really satisfied of
herself.
As for her hobbies, she really likes cooking and listening to my music.
She also likes physical activities, particularly working out in nature. She loves spending time outside, it makes her feel
free and lucky.
Maria has a dog, called Charlotte and she is a English Bulldog.

Joanne Coughlan
Veterinary Surgeon
Joanne studied Veterinary in UCD and graduated in 2007. She has worked in the UK, Australia, and finally settled in Cork. She has a keen interest in feline medicine and diagnostic imaging. Joanne loves working with the team in Carrigaline and has been there since 2013. At home, Joanne is kept busy with three children, a husband, a cat, two guinea pigs and Susan her dog, who is well-known to clients at Riverview in Carrigaline. Joanne’s hobbies include Tennis, Bikram yoga and eating out when she has the time.

Sonya Brady
Veterinary Surgeon
Sonya loves her job because as a vet she has the opportunity to optimise her patient’s health and wellbeing, working in an environment where everyone is really passionate about the welfare of the pets that come to the clinic ensures she wants to be at work. Her hobby is running and family life which includes a tabby cat called Rory. He used to be a stray cat but now he is a committed house cat who loves all his home comforts, of which he has plenty.

Conor Carroll
Veterinary Surgeon
Connor is currently on RVG’s intern programme having recently qualified. He is extremely happy with his career choice because he is able to improve lives every day. Not just those of his patients, but of the families they are a very important part of. When not at work he lives with three dogs – 2 springers and a lab – and two mischievous cats. When he gets a chance he loves to read and will give any book a try if it seems interesting enough.

Cliona O'Mahony
Veterinary Surgeon
Cliona has a passion for all animals large and small and while based at our Ballincollig Clinic you may just find her out on a farm tending to a cow’s health needs. The variety of animal clients keeps her busy and when not at works she loves running and spending time with her ‘animal niece’ Asia a lovely collie cross that adores spending time with her human auntie.

Jim Kelleher
Veterinary Surgeon
Jim’s main interest is animal welfare and any new developments in veterinary medicine and practice as well as surgery. He has additional qualifications in Dairy Herd Health. Jim loves the physicality of being a vet and the daily challenges of working as a farm animal vet. His professional specialities include Cattle lameness, its prevention and treatment. Housing and cattle management systems, that particularly relate to improved animal welfare on farms. As his name suggests he came from over Macroom way but has been settled in West cork for nearly 50 years.

Fiona McQuaid
Veterinary Surgeon
Fiona is originally from Co Armagh and has been living in Co. Cork and working with Riverview for almost 14 years. Home is just outside Kinsale and shared with her husband and 2 kids Aidan and Alice along with their cat Bob. Being based in the Kinsale branch in Riverview means she really enjoys how living and working locally means she gets a chance to know our clients and their pets both inside and outside of work. To relax she enjoys outdoor life and any chance she gets she is outside walking or running.

Patrick Casey
Veterinary Surgeon
Patrick joined the practice in March 2020 after spending 7 years practicing in the U.K. Following a number of years spent in mixed animal practice he decided to focus solely on dairy cattle work. As a dedicated dairy cattle vet his main interests lie in the areas of fertility, lameness and housing design. While working with large, intensive dairy herds in the U.K. he developed a deep understanding of how the cows environment and management can have a big impact on their welfare, fertility and production.
Outside of work Patrick is an avid surfer. Most of his spare time is spent scouring the Cork and Kerry coastline in the search of perfect waves. During the calmer summer months, when the waves go flat, he can be found mountain/trail running and cycling around the beautiful Irish countryside.

Daniel Mulroy
Mixed Animal Veterinarian
Daniel graduated as a vet at UCD in 2008. He worked in mixed practice in Co Laois and Co Tipperary for seven years before heading to Australia where he practiced small animal medicine in Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth. He returned to Ireland in 2017 where he worked as a small animal vet in Dublin City and completed a graduate certificate in Small Animal Medicine. He also recently completed a certificate in One Health with The University of Edinburgh.
In 2020 he moved to Cork with his wife and two rescue cats Olaf and Jerry. He is passionate about animal welfare and has a keen interest in parasitology. Daniel is originally from Co Mayo and in his spare time follows the GAA and enjoys travelling and spending time in the outdoors.

Greg Fitzmaurice
Large Animal Veterinarian
Greg enjoys meeting different people and characters. The variety of jobs and the challenge of needing to get the job done with just what you’ve got in the back of the car!
Greg keeps and breed a variety of reptiles. He is a big Munster rugby supporter, and lately has become a keen barbecue cook!
Gregs’ pets and his hobbies overlap, but he has a dog called Hudson, and a rabbit called Dave.

Maria Van-Lenth
Small Animal Veterinarian
Maria graduated firm Ghent University in Belgium in 2021. She worked in a small practice in the Netherlands for a year before coming to the practice. Maria loves being a vet for the variety of animals she sees on a daily bases and the creativity the animals sometimes require! When not at work Maria loves to lounge on the couch with her lazy staffie Vera. She also enjoys yoga, hiking and going on adventures, especially when they involve motorbikes or camping.

Ciara Walker
Large Animal Veterinarian
Ciara always wanted to be a vet because she loves helping animals, Ciara enjoys being outdoors for work and she likes the unpredictability of her day-to-day schedule.
Outside of work, Ciara loves reading, hiking and knitting. She has two lurchers, Maisie and Ziggy, nine pet sheep – Sadie, Addison, Abhann, Lucy, Tilly, Scotty, Lee, Raoghnailt and Caora -, and two horses, Africa and Ellie.

Craig Fairbairn
Large Animal Veterinarian
Craig is a Yorkshireman who graduated from University of Bristol in 2016 and went straight into farm animal practice in the midland in the UK, where he worked for 3 years before going out to New Zealand to work as a dairy vet whilst travelling the country for nearly three years. As a vet he enjoys the interaction with clients, the ‘office’ he gets to work in and the satisfaction in improving the welfare of the animals he treats- whether it is a calving or lame cows. Out of work, Craig enjoys travelling the world and going on hikes.

Rebecca Rourke
Head Registered Veterinary Nurse
Rebecca leads the nursing team in Ballincollig and loves all aspects of nursing but in particular anaesthesia and nursing critical patients, which as Ballincollig is
our orthopaedic and referral clinic she gets to do a lot of! When not at work she plays camogie, enjoys walking her dogs and cycling. This lady likes to keep fit! She shares her home with 5 elderly dogs. Maggie-Border terrier, Zeus-Lurcher, Buddie – Golden Retriever, Harper & Hollie – Border/Rough Collies who all adore her.

Catriona Lynch

Catriona grew up on a small farm and always had a great love for animals. From a very young age she would help out with the sheep on the farm, morning, noon and night. The one bit of advice she received from her primary school principal when leaving was to stay away from the animals and focus hard in secondary school. Guess she had other ideas! She has two beautiful dogs, Lexi a miniature schnauzer and Cooper a wire fox terrier who both have the patience of a saint with her three little girls. The whole family enjoy walking and swimming whenever they get a chance.

Sarah Power
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Sarah knows that Veterinary Nursing has endless opportunities for growth, as well as being rewarding. While she enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Nursing she has a keen interest in behaviour and rehabilitation. When not at work she potters about with a horse named Laddy who’s a gentle soul and a shetland called Charlene that’s full of sass. Last year she rescued a dog named Lady who needed a forever home after some serious surgical issues. While she’s a dote, she holds her own with the other member of Sarah’s household an American Bully named Zeus who’s full of character and mischief.

Mena Griffin
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Mena has recently returned to Ireland from living and working in the UK. Mena has many years of experience in veterinary nursing which shows in her work ethic. Mena loves that every day is different allowing her to meet new people and animals, as well as always learning new skills. When not at work she relaxes with arts and crafts and spending time with her rescue cat Rua. Mena relishes the outdoors including walks on the beach, she also practices yoga.

Kayleigh doesn’t have any pets right now but the ones that she sees at work every day make up for that. Her dream is to eventually have her own little pack to take on adventures. She loves all aspects of her job especially nursing our critical patients back to health and reuniting them with their owners. When not working alongside the fantastic team that she is part of, she likes the great outdoors and relaxes by kayaking, hiking and swimming.

Judi’s clients rely on her to keep their pets looking and feeling great. The pampered pooches love the care she takes in making sure they enjoy the experience, which they must do as they keep on coming back! When not at work Judi enjoys extreme sports such as paragliding and wild swimming and has a home aviary of wonderful birds to keep her company. Coming into work is home from home for her and the rest of the team love the way she mothers them and is already ready with a cup of tea for anyone in need.

Flower is passionate about dogs and likes nothing more that discussing new styles with the owner that would suit the dog’s coat condition and lifestyle and allows her to be creative. When not at work or pampering her own dogs (a border collie, a Kerry Blue and Corgix) she loves researching new grooming techniques. Roller-skating, jogging and long hikes in the lovely West Cork landscape is how she relaxes.

Mary Hayes
Receptionist
Mary works with Farmers and Pet owners and loves the friendly environment that she works in. Mary is the Clinic’s ‘go to person’ and will turn her hand to whatever is needed. When not at work she loves to relax by reading and eating, so good news that the two often go together! Milo (her 10year old cocker spaniel) who thinks he is the king of the castle, but really its Muggle the cat, love to curl up with her.

Catherine O'Neill
Receptionist
Catherine takes over on Friday when Mary is off and loves her time with our clients both Farming and pets who are all happy to see her. She may only be part-time but she is a valued member of the Clonakilty Team. To relax her dog Ronnie and cat Dexter (who get on great together) both keep her company on her walks although on some of her more arduous hikes Dexter stays at home!

Angela O'Connor
Receptionist
Angela joined Riverview in November 2020 as receptionist. She has vast experience in all types of retail and customer service roles. She relishes the client interactions and her bubbly personality keeps a smile on everyone’s face. She loves to be organized and keeps the clinic running smoothly. When Angela has a break from work, she likes to snuggle up with two small dogs, Dex and Lola. Between running after her rugby son or her golfing husband, if she has time she enjoys shopping and catching up with friends and family

Emily Crowley
TB Testing
Emily is part of the Farm animal team and organises all the TB testing. Her other passion in life is Rugby. Having played competitively for 13 years she now coaches the underage team. As well as coaching others she really enjoys learning new skills herself. Emily is a fantastic baker and we all enjoy trying her cake recipes, which Sam, a golden retriever, who has been the loyal family pet for over 9 years cann

Tim O'Driscoll
Farm Shop Manager
There is not a lot Tim can’t help you with, if you need Farm supplies. Tim is enthusiastic about his work because it is one of the lynchpins to healthy animals on the Farm. While his job doesn’t often allow him to work directly with our animal clients he does enjoy working with all the farmers that RVG supports. When not at work he loves hiking with Sammy his 5 year old collie cross and listening to all kinds of music.
